- T’ai Chi Chih and Seijaku have been the crowning joy of my life and work. I first studied T’ai Chi Chih in 1995, while pursuing holistic bodywork studies, becoming a Reiki Master, and a practitioner of Integrated Energy Therapy. I was accredited to teach T’ai Chi Chih in 1997, and was accredited to teach Seijaku by Originator Justin Stone a few months later. In the following years, I also studied and subsequently practiced Thai Yoga bodywork. I opened a small local health and wellness center in Bradley Beach, NJ in 1997, having celebrated 25 years there in 2022.
Over the course of some 15 years, I have hosted many trainings and events in both TCC and Seijaku, and was named an International Teacher Trainer in 2012. I enjoyed my studies and personal experiences with the Originator Justin Stone through 2010, having attended three of his “Turiya” Meditation Retreats in 1999, 2000, and 2001 in Albuquerque, NM. These as well as other experiences with Justin Stone were both inspiring and life-changing for me.
My earlier life’s work and studies include having acquired a NJ teaching degree in Music in 1974, and a seminary Master of Divinity degree in 1986. I taught vocal/choral music in public schools for several years, taught piano for 25 years, directed school stage musicals, church choirs, and a senior community chorus, and worked in church ministry over a period of some 30+ years.
At the same time that I was discovering the joys and benefits of a variety of holistic practices and healing modalities, I also was pursuing training in group dynamics and psychodrama, as well as having studied group work with the late Peter Hendrickson, PhD. of NYC in working with the LGBTQ community, since 1995.
By 2005, the major part of my career had become teaching T’ai Chi Chih and Seijaku, and I was called upon to prepare serious students for teacher accreditation. Since being appointed a TCC Teacher Trainer, nearly all my time has been absorbed in teaching and training in TCC and Seijaku, while continuing some volunteer work for an LGBTQ group, and directing a Senior Center choral group from 2011 until 2020.
I find my students and constituent teachers to be a true joy to work with, and the enrichment that I receive in body and mind as well as the inspiration of spirit have been invaluable and all-pervading. It has been a “lifesaver” for my health, and so I am deeply grateful for this practice. I have been teaching as an accredited T’ai Chi Chih teacher for over 25 years , as well as as an appointed Teacher Trainer for over 10 years, for which I feel profoundly grateful. As has been said by many others, “T’ai Chi Chih has changed my life!”.
