Howdy y’all! Welcome to your ever continuing search for health and wellness.
As one that was NOT aware that that was happening to me, those two topics have molded my mind and body the past 10 years. Learning T’ai Chi Chih has opened my mind to become calm and have better blood pressure while reducing stress. As for the body, these subtle and easy movements have made the joints, tendons and muscles more flexible as this 64 year old ages. As for the mind, some intuitive things have occurred; listening to the body has change the type of food eaten and eventually waking up to the fact that a Low Carb life style was waiting around the corner. What a great combination! No medications at all and perfect blood tests now! It is possible for anyone.
This course of action has led to other Taiji and Qigong forms that this Teacher uses to the benefit of the Students and self. The principles of one form reinforces or compliments other Forms. One expression that is used in class is giving you a new tool for your toolbox. As most of these kind of movements come from the martial arts, each can be performed as a “Moving Meditation”, one of the subtitles for T’ai Chi Chih. Teaching the movements is paramount with deepening detail of each along with the addition of benefits one could receive while enjoying any of them.
Some of the comments from class have been; “What happened, I remembered walking into class, then it seemed like I woke up on the last movement, how did the hour pass so effortlessly,” “I feel so relaxed and calm,” “Better than any pill you could take.”
