Approaching my septuagenarian years, I enrolled in a T’ai Chi Chih class to proactively address the balance issues that can plague many older adults. I expected nothing more from T’ai Chi Chih. But like so many of its practitioners, I discovered unexpected benefits beyond increased physical stability. And that has brought me to teaching T’ai Chi Chih, inviting students to experience the individualized gains this practice can provide.
I am a retired occupational therapist. I worked with children with disabilities and their caregivers. Prior to leaving the United States to live and work in Germany, I was an assistant professor of occupational therapy at Eastern Kentucky University for ten years. Although my home is now in Minnesota, much of my heart remains in Kentucky; I look forward to returning there as a snowbird. There are no accredited T’ai Chi Chih teachers below the northern borders of the Commonwealth; I would like to introduce T’ai Chi Chih to Central and Eastern Kentucky.
