Hello, and a warm welcome to my page!
I’m so glad you’ve found your way here.
T’ai Chi Chih (TCC) first found me back in 2018, during a beautiful introductory session led by Tina Wells at the Oxfordshire Recovery College. Although I’d spent several years training in Wing Chun Kung Fu, Qigong, and Tai Chi Chuan, there was something uniquely calming and complete about TCC. It gently wove together threads from my previous training with a quiet simplicity that resonated deeply.
At the time, I was already immersed in mindfulness-based practices — teaching, training, and supervising others in approaches like Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) in Oxford. TCC felt like something special: a serene, meditative movement practice that connected body and mind in a truly healing way. I felt an immediate connection and a desire to explore further.
Soon after, I began learning from Tina, and following a relocation in 2019, I continued my journey with Lesley Nell, whose guidance ( on Zoom and F2F) helped me deepen my understanding and refine my practice. With Lesley’s support, my personal passion for TCC evolved into something I can confidently and joyfully share with others.
In 2022, I was accredited to teach by Sandy McAlister, and since then, I’ve had the privilege of sharing TCC with a wide range of people — from community college students in Banbury, to individuals supported by mental health and recovery services, to older adults, school children, and more. Thanks to generous support from the NHS, local charities, County Council, and community organisations, TCC is finding its way into schools, housing projects, refugee support groups, and care homes. I also regularly offer taster sessions, staff away day experiences, and introductory classes for groups and organisations across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, and Berkshire.
In 2023, I was lucky to be part of a team of TCC teachers to share TCC practice at an International Whole Mind Body Health Conference, at Harvard / Osher Centre. We are planning to present research at a future conference regarding the impact and benefits of TCC.
In 2024, I was delighted to be accredited to teach Seijaku, the advanced form of TCC, by Pam Towne — and I’ve begun introducing this to students who wish to deepen their practice.
Online (Zoom) Classes
Alongside in-person teaching, I also offer sessions via Zoom. With over two decades’ experience working as a Counselling Psychologist and CBT therapist — much of it online — the skills of facilitation online transfer well into teaching TCC, and I’ve found TCC to be just as impactful in a virtual setting. Whether you’re new to the practice or preparing to teach, we can connect and practice together from wherever you are.
One of the joys of offering online classes is just that — you can join from anywhere.
And wherever you’re starting from, there’s a place for you here.I believe that life must ever be a giver unto life. I’d be honoured to share the gift of this healing art with you.
