I had been described as having a mind like a racehorse…on steroids. Not a pleasant characteristic! Imagine my amazement when, after experiencing my first T’ai Chi Chih class in 1999, my mind felt completely calm and QUIET. Ahhh, now THAT got my attention!
I became accredited in 2000 and have been teaching classes ever since. The populations and environments I teach are as varied as the people that I meet in class. For example, I’ve taught: elementary students (2nd thru 8th grades), college students, folks with Parkinson’s and cancer, religious communities, mental health challenges, physical challenges (e.g. balance issues, use of walker or wheelchair, hearing and sight difficulties) and people who just want to calm down and de-stress. Locations I’ve taught are at YMCAs and other fitness centers, libraries, arboretums, retreat centers, churches, schools/colleges, in private homes and most recently online.
I cannot begin to tell you what a joy it is to teach this very ‘user friendly’ moving meditation when, time after time, I witness people in class calming down, slowing down, smiling, relaxing or even becoming rejuvenated. People who felt stiff or had some kind of pain often reported that they felt more flexible and were often pain free! Others state that they worry much less and are better able to go with the flow.
Do yourself a favor and give yourself the opportunity to experience T’ai Chi Chih and see what benefits are in store for YOU. Please get in touch.
