I took my first T’ai Chi Chih class in 2009, soon after retiring from a career in public education in Asheville, NC. I thought the class was going to be a T’ai Chi class. Needless to say it wasn’t but I decided I liked the 19 slow movements, not too difficult to learn, and continued to take several more classes from my instructor whom I really enjoyed working with. After attending an intensive and exploring my practice in more depth, my teacher said he was moving out of state and would I be interested in becoming an instructor.

I was accredited to teach T’ai Chi Chih in 2013 in Aston, PA, and Seijaku in 2107 and have been fortunate to teach TCC classes at several locations in the Asheville area.

I have tried teaching using a virtual format but have not decided, at this time, that this is something I want to continue doing.

I try to do a practice each day, as the originator, Justin Stone, was fond of saying “one cannot appease the appetite buy reading the menu.” Doing and teaching T’ai Chi Chih has been a wonderful experience providing additional opportunities to explore mind, body and spirit healing modalities.

I like to say to prospective students, ‘if you try it, you’ll probably like it.
