T’ai Chi Chih practice balances my life, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, and my motivation for teaching the form is with the knowledge that it can do the same for others.
I studied and meditated with Justin Stone, the originator, for 12 years, and attended his meditation retreats and classes. When I had questions about movements or philosophy behind his teachings, I would make an appointment with him at his home.
Over a four-year time period, fellow teacher, Amy Tyksinski, and I transcribed an Oriental Philosophy lecture series previously given by Justin, titled, Gateway to Eastern Philosophy & Religion.
Other written labors of love include three T’ai Chi Chih booklets, co-authored with teacher Kathy Grassel, which compile the healing stories told by practitioners. Finally, she and I wrote a booklet on Seiajku practice, with the intention that it serve as a teaching companion to Justin’s DVD on Seijaku.
Not only do I love introducing students to the form, but I also enjoy facilitating workshops and preparing students to become teachers. Most of my classes are taught at the T’ai Chi Chih Center in Albuquerque, but I also teach on Zoom and in my home.
