T’ai Chi Chih is a wonderful practice which points to the infinite possibilities available to each of us no matter where we are on our life journey. When I was Initially drawn to T’ai Chi Chih, I was looking for flexibility and more physical movement in my life. Â However, I found it can offer so much more.
Over the years, I’ve been blessed with opportunities to study under numerous T’ai Chi Chih, Qigong, and Daoist masters and teachers. And while each one has added perspective and insights to my practice, my approach to teaching TCC is primarily through applying the fundamental principles. I continue to study Classical Chinese Medicine and find its wisdom most helpful in both deepening my personal practice and inspiring my teaching.
I’ve shared TCC with young children in public and private school settings, pre-teens and teens in summer camps, adults, and seniors in assisted living. For 12 years prior to the pandemic I’ve added my support to our free bi-weekly, community TCC beach practices. I have offered classes in TCC and Seijaku and complementary workshops in Classical Chinese Medicine for serious students and other teachers.
While promoting the health benefits of the traditional Taiji forms, some Taijiquan masters also refer to an evolved state of awareness and consciousness which can be experienced from years of sincere, dedicated practice. T’ai Chi Chih is an accessible, fun, user-friendly Qigong practice which offers this same spectrum of possibility to those who seek, are open to learning, and are willing to practice.
