Hello and thank you for being curious about T’ai Chi Chih (TCC). In 2013 my daughter and I wanted to take a class together, and TCC was available and at a good price. I went through the steps of being a novice and now get to instruct (which is a polite way of saying I get to practice more.) When my shoulders become earrings, TCC allows the focus of my mind and body to ease away the stress. As a wiggly girl, TCC is mindfulness in motion.
I love to share T’ai Chi Chih. The 19 movements and one pose are gentle, repetitive mindfulness or meditation. These calming movements connect our mind, body, and spirit. The originator, Justin Stone, called it ‘Joy through movement.’ TCC can be enjoyed standing or seated, at any age, and it is tender enough for most physical limitations. TCC circulates and balances each individual’s “Chi” or Intrinsic Self. My favorite principle is grounding – literally to become aware of the soles of our feet and get out of our monkey mind. TCC can reduce tension, calm the mind, invite serenity, invigorate the day, improve blood pressure, provide focus, and allow balance (both physical and emotional). The benefits are abundant. Please come enjoy T’CC.
