In 2015 I noticed that I was losing my balance and remembered my college days while waiting for a bus to classes, observing an elderly Asian man going through a meditative practice that showed his perfect balance. My wife, Lorel, found a local T’ai Chi Chih class taught by Stan Corwin and we signed up for it. Well, half-way through the class I was hooked with my balance improving and my blood pressure dropped 30 points. I told Lorel that we had to work at becoming teachers so I would never discontinue the practice.
We became accredited T’ai Chi Chih teachers in 2017 and Seijaku teachers in 2019. I make it a practice to attend at least one retreat and the teachers’ conference every year to stay active in refining my teaching techniques and the T’ai Chi Chih practice habits.
I teach locally at the Deerfield Community Center and have been the T’ai Chi Chih Teachers’ Conference Registrar since 2019.
