Lifelong Learning
T’ai Chi Chih is a mindfulness-moving meditation practice that’s easy to learn. The series of 19 movements and one pose helps circulate the Vital Energy, the Chi. Practitioners experience peace, improved health, and many more benefits. Our free monthly e-newsletter offers inspiration between issues of the TCC quarterly journal, The Vital Force, in which teachers and students tell stories about ways they’ve benefited from the practice.

From the recent issue of The Vital Force:
Growth: “My experience during a recent Intensive was humbling. I discovered that the TCC teacher I’d been practicing with had been kind to me, but the Intensive instructors leaned toward ‘you can do better.’ One had an eye for pointing out the little ‘oopses’ and another had a gentle way of guiding me in the right direction without saying anything. We never stop learning. An Intensive may throw you out of your comfort zone but, in the end, you’ll be a better student. You’ll ‘get out of your head and into the soles of your feet,’ and that is a beautiful thing.” – PH, Ohio

Faith: “I was drawn to a Justin quotation shared in a recent workshop: ‘The most important thing is faith. If you don’t have faith in God, have faith in yourself. That’s saying the same thing.’ My TCC journey over the past six years has opened many doors, which helped me resolve the loss of my husband of 48 years. I was taking TCC when he transitioned and, by sharing it with him before that, it helped us both. My faith in myself has been strengthened through my TCC practice. I now feel very open to experiencing new things in life and practicing living in the now has been wonderful.” – Anon

Intuition: “I start the practice by stimulating my Chi meridians followed by the five Seijaku preliminaries. Then I move softly into Rocking Motion. I often practice three multiples of nine because it’s one of my favorite movements to get into the flow. Toward the end of this movement, my intuition says, ‘You already have the tools you need to access patience in your life: TCC.’ Intuition reminds me that TCC teaches the beauty of patience by feeling the flow, and then carrying it with me as I face life’s challenges. This was an aha moment; I smiled internally and outwardly during the rest of practice.” – JB, New Jersey

Guidance: You cannot give the same teaching to two people. It must fit the karma of each one and never be a teaching by rote. How do you know what teaching to give? You will be guided. – Justin F. Stone
