Linda reluctantly went to her first T’ai Chi Chih class in 2008 because her chiropractor highly recommended it and was extremely skeptical that this slow moving practice could do anything positive. To her surprise she immediately felt deep relaxation after the first class. Other positive physical and mental changes were noted after a short amount of practice. She was soon in love with TCC. She quickly became known as a “TCC retreat junkie” as she traveled around the U.S. and to Canada to study with Sr. Antonia Cooper (the Guide of TCC at the time) and the three international teacher trainers.
Linda derived so many health and personal benefits from TCC that she simply had to share them with others. She became a TCC teacher in 2014 and was accredited to teach Seijaku in 2015. Since then (and prior to Covid-19), she attended seven to eight events in person annually and took classes from other seasoned teachers to enhance her own teaching skills. Since Covid-19 began she has constantly attended and hosted classes and workshops via zoom and shared teaching methods, tips, and ideas with other teachers and trainers online.
Linda has audited thirteen teacher trainings since becoming accredited to fine-tune her own form and teaching skills as well as assist other candidates in their journey to become teachers. She is also currently mentoring newly accredited teachers.
Prior to Covid-19, Linda was teaching seated T’ai Chi Chih to cancer patients at the Scotland Memorial Hospital Cancer Center in Laurinburg. NC.
