I began studying T’ai Chi Chih in Tulsa, OK, in 2008 after being diagnosed with Osteoarthritis. I was looking for a practice that would help with flexibility, coordination and balance. I was fortunate to find this practice at a local community center. I began practicing at the center twice weekly and early on realized improvements in physical energy, inner calm and well-being. I also realized I wanted to become a teacher.
In 2010 my husband and I moved to Simpsonville, SC. Again, I was fortunate to find an excellent accredited T’ai Chi Chih teacher as my mentor, Vicki Schroeder. I began study with Vicki in 2010 thru 2013 and also with Stan Corwin in 2012 to 2013. I was accredited to teach T’ai Chi Chih in November 2013. In July 2014, I was accredited in Seijaku.
Currently, I am  teaching classes in multiple Greenville area Senior Activity Centers, two of which are participants in the Silver Sneakers program. Silver Sneakers representatives, based on research materials  provided, allowed T’ai Chi Chih to be included as a practice that was beneficial to older adults.
