Hello everyone! I was lucky back in 2004 to watch my yoga teacher, Linda Prosche, doing a series of beautiful, soft flowing movements. Yoga class had not yet started. I asked her what she was going. She told me a little about Tai Chi Chih. I said “I have to learn this form.” I went and spoke to the head of the classes at Golds Gym (now SF Fitness). I was told if I got 10 other students, Linda could teach us TCC at the gym. One week later, we had a class of 10 people. Over the next three years I practiced with Linda and this wonderful group, new people coming in on a regular basis.
In 2007 I became certified to teach this amazing and life renewing form of open eyed movement meditation. Teaching TCC has been such an honor for me. The practice provides for me an amazing experience of softness, calm, open-heartedness. Justin Stone said “The fruit of Tai Chi Chi is love.” And so it is!
I love that the students I have been honored to teach also love this practice, in so many unique and varied ways. Now, in 2020, I am still teaching this ongoing class at SF Fitness, and co-teaching with Linda and another teacher Tom Rothenberger.
I am also an RN. I love that this form is so gentle and easy to teach, and so profoundly gratifying to do. I am often able to share some of the movements with my patients, particularly when they are anxious, worried, upset, fearful: and a calm, settling quiet presence is often shared.
