Thanks for your interest in learning T’ai Chi Chih!
I stumbled upon TCC after experiencing a painful illness and have a passion for helping those experiencing pain or suffering. Because of TCC, I am now mostly pain-free and much healthier.
My introduction to learning TCC was over a decade ago when I accidentally walked into a TCC demonstration at a local bookstore in Albuquerque given by the Originator Justin Stone. I watched as he spoke about his practice and demonstrated a few movements. I was keenly aware of his presence and the feeling of peace that surrounded him. As I watched him and the crowd who were seated and gazing at him with admiration, I knew that I had never seen another human being like him. He had something I did not have and I remember thinking: “I want to feel what he feels.” There was a certainty, a strength, a command of his space, and a connection with those around him that was palpable. Once you do the practice, you get to feel that way, as I later learned. I think the important thing is to recognize when beginning a practice such as TCC is: 1) you can change 2) knowing what to aim for and 3) experiencing the help of supportive people on your journey. Seeing Justin Stone that day let me know what to aim for. This is what TCC has given me and I am so grateful. It is why I became a teacher.
I have been practicing this amazing moving meditation and healing practice for 6 years and was certified to teach in 2018. I especially enjoy teaching when I see the look of surprise on a student’s face as they arrive at a more peaceful and calm place during their practice. This practice is gentle and effective – perfect for those who have special needs.
Currently, I teach in Albuquerque providing beginner’s group lessons and I also volunteer at the T’ai Chi Chih Center in Albuquerque by helping to lead some of our free weekly practices. My experience includes teaching educators at a local school, working with small and large groups, and teaching one-on-one in the privacy of a student’s home. I also have experience teaching teens.
We are super fortunate to have an inclusive and vibrant community of practitioners here in Albuquerque along with our new T’ai Chi Chih Center in the North Valley. I encourage you to try a class if you have been looking for a way to bring more peace, health, and balance to your life.
My teaching style is relaxed and flexible. You will be given lots of information on TCC to begin your new adventure within.
Best wishes for you on your journey, and please feel free to email or call if you would like to sign up for one of my classes.
