Hi. I’m Emma. I am a UK-based T’ai Chi Chih Teacher in the Southampton, Hampshire area.

I teach in-person beginner and ongoing classes.

I also do workshops.

I love sharing T’ai Chi Chih with people, helping them to experience the joy and calm it brings.

I am also an accredited Mindfulness teacher, and I discovered T’ai Chi Chih at a Mindfulness teacher conference in the UK. I had been finding that people were struggling with traditional mindful meditation and had been looking for a more accessible movement practice that I could try with people who were really struggling. Let’s just say, after the T’ai Chi Chih workshop that Adam, Kate, and Laurin held that day, I immediately signed up for a course with Adam and Laurin to learn it, and then to teach it. Not only did I come away feeling like I had found what I was looking for, but I was also hooked on it myself.
I feel T’ai Chi Chih is important, and I have an incredible drive to share it with as many people as I can. And so far in my teaching journey, not only am I finding joy within my own practice and within teaching it to others, but I also get to see the profound effect it has on my students. People tell me coming to class is the best part of their week, people saying they have improved balance, better sleep, and that it brings them calm. The list goes on and on, and every person’s experience is unique. I find that fascinating. I often say to my students that T’ai Chi Chih knows what you need, because for myself, the benefits I get from it seem to change depending on what I need. If I’m sleep deprived, it gives me energy. If I’m struggling to sleep it helps me sleep. If I’ve had a stressful day, it calms me down. The practice itself just fills me with joy.

I feel truly lucky to have come across T’ai Chi Chih, or for it to have found me.
