My first look at T’ai Chi Chih was a drop-in practice held at my local library. I thought I was attending a martial arts class that would help me whip myself into shape. I was overweight, out of shape, achy, and anxious. I had been a jock in school and that was the extent of my approach to fitness.
After many years of classes, I’ve learned that the last thing I need for health is to “whip myself” into anything. T’ai Chi Chih has taught me a gentle and thoughtful approach to myself and my fitness.
People have told me for years to “relax!” or “lighten up!” but no one ever showed me how to do that. T’ai Chi Chih has given me experience in relaxation, relief from a swirling mind, and body awareness that facilitates weight loss and less joint pain.
This is what I have to offer as a teacher, along with specialized skills in working with those who’ve endured trauma.
**First class at Willow Health & Wellness Center starts Nov. 14!**
