Finding what we’re seeking

T’ai Chi Chih is a mindfulness-moving meditation practice that’s easy to learn. The series of 19 movements and one pose helps circulate the Vital Energy, the Chi. Practitioners experience peace, improved health, and many more benefits. Our free monthly e-newsletter offers inspiration between issues of the TCC quarterly journal, The Vital Force, in which teachers and students tell stories about ways they’ve benefited from the practice.

From the recent issue of The Vital Force:

Learning: “I’m excited about learning TCC and connecting with the energy of the universe. As a student of only three months, I have so much to learn and look forward to. It feels like something I’ve been searching for, for a very long time. It feels like a mind, body and soul experience. My hope is that as I learn to experience the energy (Chi) of TCC that I’ll become a better and stronger person in mind, body and spirit.” BW, Wildwood, IL

Grounding: “Grounding is a common theme in the practice of TCC. Practicing in Nature can enhance our awareness of the actual ground we’re standing on, emphasizing our connection with Earth. It also can enhance our relationship to Nature, making us more aware of what’s happening right outside our door. Even indoors, we can incorporate Nature into our practice by opening a window or door. Practicing TCC in Nature can deepen our connection to and appreciation for the Chi that’s all around us.” CL, Greeley, CO

Quieting: “This quotation (below) reminds me to constantly be present. Whenever I’m not, feelings of stress and anxiety can arise. That disconnected feeling reminds me to recenter and connect for the journey of wholeness. So many times, we get caught up in the fast pace of the world and forget to acknowledge that healing begins within. So, come inside where it’s peaceful and do a daily TCC practice. Quiet your mind, place your awareness in your feet and move with the Chi..” SG at Weatherby Lake, MO event

Becoming: When we perform T’ai Chi Chih properly we feel the results. Since we are, essentially, a conflux of moving energies, stimulating and balancing the Intrinsic Energy (Chi) affects our whole being. The effects seem to be personal but, in truth, they are widespread. Just as our Enlightenment is saving all beings, so does the balancing of the Universal Energy affect both the outer and the inner…. We do not heal symptoms; we become whole.” (Spiritual Odyssey). Justin F. Stone
