Jessica believes that the debt we owe our nation’s heroes and their families must extend well beyond kind words and a handshake … “Thank you for your service” simply isn’t enough.
Working with Veterans requires a thoughtful and informed approach due to the complex challenges they face. The former spouse of a Vietnam combat Vet, the survivor of a suicide loss, and married to a life-active volunteer firefighter, Jessica brings a wealth of direct experience to this work and is one of just a handful of national Tai Chi instructors who’s invested thousands of hours obtaining multiple credentials and being trained in the nuances of both general Veteran culture and even VHA policy and procedure … Jessica is uniquely suited to immediately recognize potential issues and respond appropriately in order to support each of her Veteran-student’s optimal wellbeing.
And now the SCULPT YOUR LIFE® T’ai Chi Chih for Veterans Program is available FOR FREE to all Veterans and their caregivers (both in-person and virtually) … click here for the schedule. T’ai Chi Chih isn’t just an evidence-based complementary & integrative treatment option for PTSD / life-threatening mental health diagnoses, chronic pain, and many other conditions prevalent in today’s military community, it’s also drug-free, fun, plus literally anyone can do it.
But why, you may ask, is T’ai Chi Chih so perfectly suited for this very special population?
Because it’s undeniably unique. The only style of Tai Chi qualified by leading TCQ researchers as nothing other than a moving mindfulness practice, T’ai Chi Chih also improves vagal tone and works in ways strikingly similar to Rhythmic Sensory Bilateral Stimulation (or “RSBLS,” a common treatment modality for trauma) plus even offers benefits comparable to those seen in clinical hypnosis. Plus it’s exceptionally adaptive as well.
Zoom Classes
Mondays, 12-1pm & 1:45-2:45PM Eastern Time
FREE FOR VETERANS & Accredited TCC Instructors (civilians pay just $16.50)
Need a Zoom link? Visit www.SculptUrLife.com/events for Jessica’s schedule and pricing, then contact her with your selection. You’ll receive an emailed confirmation with join-in details. You may especially enjoy her webpage dedicated to T’ai Chi Chih: www.SculptUrLife.com/tai-chi-chih or the VIDEOS page: www.SculptUrLife.com/videos, which includes all the movements broken down into chapters. Plus about halfway down that page you’ll also find a complete silent mirrored practice with Jessica and Teacher Trainer April Leffler (her first and most treasured TCC instructor) … just do what you see and you’ll quickly feel for yourself what it’s like to go with the F.L.O.W. (follow love over worry!)
Jessica’s twice-weekly community-based T’ai Chi Chih for Veterans classes welcome all skill levels. But she also offers:
- a weekly Tai Chi for Veterans class (T’ai Chi Chih taught within the context of a federal program launched in 2019 by the VA Community Care Network … the only after-work Tai Chi class specifically for Veterans in the state of Delaware)
- Guided Practice for experienced students
