I have been involved in different forms of dance and movement my whole life. ​In 1991 I was living in Siesta Key Florida for one year with my family. ​One evening while on the beach for sunset I saw a group of people doing Tai Chi-like movements. This was my first encounter with Tai Chi Chih. It turned out to be​​ Diana Daffner, guiding a weekly practice. She still does now, 32 years later. Diana had just been accredited as a TCC teacher​ that year. I was invited to join in and immediately loved the simplicity and softness of the movement. I guess you could say I fell in love. Diana and I have been close friends ever since. After I moved back to Amsterdam, I revisited Siesta Key whenever I could to escape winter and see my friends. Every time renewing my encounter with TCC.

Many times I mentioned that I wanted to be a teacher, but then left it at that, practicing here and there. Until 2021, when I found myself at home during the pandemic. Not being able to travel to the U.S., I started looking for an online teacher in Europe and found Lesley Nell in England. What a blessing that was. During our weekly Zoom lessons with Adam and Vanessa, she prepared my friend Orly Mani and me for teacher training and accreditation. Then in November 2022, ​Sandy McAllister came all the way from California for our accreditation. ​
