Planting Seeds

By: Jo Trautmann

I scattered seeds upon the ground
and watched them grow
some quickly, some slowly,
some not at all.

I scattered seeds upon the ground
and found some sprouted
then withered.
They remind us that even Mother Nature
cannot win them all.
