Conference Thoughts
No one had come forward to host the 2022 teacher conference, so out of the goodness of their hearts Eliza Fulton and Anita Vestal stepped up. With the help of T’ai Chi Chih (TCC) teachers from around the globe, a virtual conference was born. Many of us in TCC are still cautious about COVID-19 and its variants, so we knew an in-person event would not be possible. All 156 participants dialed into Zoom, assisted by excellent tech guides, and at 4:00 PM on Friday, we offered thanks to all who made the conference possible.
Patty Stupca’s talk also inspired me to help students to go deeper by helping them to ground. It isn’t enough to say, “You must ground the Chi.” We need suggestions for ways to begin to feel that you are grounding the Chi. Justin offers a good example of grounding in his DVDs and by saying the words, “Feel yourself grounding the Chi,” which moves it out of our heads and down into our feet. Patty was so very clear, simple, and solid as she shared her wisdom.
It was a very good conference and I Iook forward to listening to it again. It is a way to love and share the Chi.
