My First Conference

I really didn’t know what to expect of my first T’ai Chi Chih (TCC) teacher conference. I had never been to an event like that before. The highlight was meeting so many amazing people and re-connecting with my TCC brothers and sisters. The breakout groups were great to get to know each other better, and to share our knowledge, feelings, and ideas. In one of the groups, I relayed my experience with TCC helping me play the piano and was reminded that TCC helps me to get out of my own way.

I loved April’s talk on her dog walker method: the tan t’ien is the dog walker. Arms are the dogs; make sure they follow the dog walker. What a treat to meet Carmen Brocklehurst. I have to admit I was a little starstruck after watching her videos for so many years. What a sweet, sweet woman.

Thank you all for the talks about TCC. I am looking forward to sharing what I learned with my students. What a wonderful community; I am so grateful to be a part of it.
