My Practice Has Gone to the Dogs

My new Shih Tzu puppy is often a studio dog, because that is where I spend a big chunk of my time, working on art, making phone calls, and practicing T’ai Chi Chih when weather or circumstances don’t permit going outside.

I was just getting off the phone when Mio, the puppy, started making gagging sounds. He had discovered a tube of Golden Acrylic Flow and chewed the top off of it. The label warning announced toxic. I grabbed him and headed to a nearby veterinarian’s office but forgot my cell phone.

For the next two hours I was trapped in a tiny room with nothing to read. So, of course I did TCC. I began a slow, focused practice of both TCC and Seijaku which alleviated most of my stress. I let go of things I could not control. I was so grateful for the gift of TCC and glad that Justin Stone had shared it. I thought of things learned during Sandy’s Zoom classes, and the marvelous people I’ve met over the past two years doing TCC online. My claustrophobia was also alleviated because of the practice.

Mio is okay. He still chews on everything, including me, and I am trying to puppy proof my complex environment. We are happy on this chilly morning, him resting in his little bed and me practicing with everyone on Zoom.
