News and Notes from Teachers

My son Juno plays college basketball. He is a freshman. The team was stuck. The coach offered Juno three starts assured. He did very well the first two games. The day of the third game, I taught Juno and a friend the Rocking Motion and Bass Drum. Juno was receptive because he had just seen “Vision Quest” and seen T’ai Chi being done in it. That night Juno scored 24 points, made several steals, and nine rebounds. He truly excelled! After the game when I congratulated him he grinned and whispered in my ear, “It was the T’ai Chi, Mom! I did it in the locker room before the game!” I was delighted for Juno! Now it is my goal to work a pilot project with the team members—if they are receptive—to see if daily TCC will improve their performance next season! Justin mentioned in his TCC book that he’d like to see what would happen in the Sports arena if TCC were included. I’m curious too and sending out the “Chi” energy for receptivity.

Pamela Towne of Cypress, CA offers her students four options for continuity of practice:

1-Intermediate class (8 weeks)

2-Review Beginning class for ½ price

3-Drop-in to any Beginning class ($10.00)

4-One day follow-up class ($30.00/4 hours)

Pam’s Intermediate class consists of review and refinement of movements, the Great Circle Meditation, and exploring how to bring the essence of TCC into everyday living. Pam is currently teaching two Beginning classes and one Intermediate class.

Pam finds it very rewarding to work one-on-one with an individual in private sessions. She is also starting a semi-private series of eight weeks with three people at UC Irvine.
