News from Teachers (Spring 1986)
Lillian Susumi has been teaching T’ai Chi Chih workshops in the Seattle area for nearly a year, and will have upcoming classes at the Unity Church (Spring ’86) and at the Church of Religious Science’s College of Holistic Studies (Fall ’86).
The following article appeared recently in a newsletter.
Tai Chi Chih Now!
By Richie Sindell and Nikki McRae
Tai Chi Chih is a graceful form of body movement practiced in China for the past four thousand years. Tai Chi Chih is a fine science of body movement which brings about clarity, relaxation, longevity, body-tone, inner peace and happiness, increased energy, wellness, more efficient nutritional assimilation, absorption, and balance.
Lillian Susumi is one of only 200 certified Tai Chi Chih instructors in the world. Recently Lillian Susumi has given seven Tai Chi weekend workshops in the Seattle-Tacoma area.
Many Context graduate participants report astounding results. At the beginning of each class Lillian asks people what they want from the class. Sandra Moss indicated she wanted more inner peace. Immediately following Friday night’s session and all weekend Sandra experienced extraordinary inner peace, which she attributed directly to the workshop. Nikki McRae, a holistic healer, has experienced significantly increased healing energy emitted from her hands, as confirmed by her clients. Jennifer Enright, a Context staff member, and Richie Sindell indicate that they have experienced an increased sense of groundedness. When they are in the midst of a frazzled work day, they leave their workspace and spend two minutes on a simple Tai Chi warmup exercise—it immediately grounds them for hours. They report they are able to call upon this simple tool any time they feel hyperactive or depleted. Tai Chi helps them become more relaxed and focused. Another Context staffer, Betsy Woodson, reports that as a result of Tai Chi she experiences increased energy, is more relaxed, and is more focused.
Interestingly a woman who chooses to remain anonymous reports that Tai Chi has dramatically enhanced her personal sexuality in her relationship with her husband.
Based upon your interest, Lillian Susumi will be available in December or January to resume her weekend workshops. Those of you who choose to take advantage of this opportunity, please telephone Jennifer Enright at Context Trainings in Seattle or, in Tacoma, call Nikki McRae to place your name on a workshop mailing list.
