One Thing

My friend and accredited T’ai Chi Chih (TCC) teacher, Elizabeth Tyler, used to live and teach in Oregon but now lives in Ajijic, Mexico at Namaste Spiritual Community. She says, “Think of your pelvic area as a fruit bowl, and you don’t want the fruit to fall out. The fruit will fall out of the bowl if you rock too far to the front or too far to the back. You want to stay upright in your center, shoulders over your hips, with your chin parallel to the ground.”

The one-liner I use when teaching Rocking Motion is similar to Elizabeth’s: “Rocking is the first movement you felt as a baby” and “Like in a rocking chair, don’t rock too far forward or too far back or you will rock over.”
