When do you feel grounding energy? Every time I go to resting pose and pause, breathing, I feel quiet and grounded. I’m so thankful for Justin giving us this gift, all the teachers, and the connection to all of us through The Vital Force. 

Do you begin the next movement from the grounded position? Do you feel any disruption in Chi flow when you stand up and point your fingertips to Earth before flowing into the next movement? No, I don’t feel a disruption standing up and then flowing into the next movement. It’s always different: sometimes I go directly into the pose from the resting position and sometimes I stand up and relax the whole body and move on. Freedom to follow the Chi. Freedom to love, adore, and treasure the Chi.

Do you feel Chi flowing through your fingers? If so, what do you tell your students if your hands and fingers begin to tremble during practice. My fingers don’t tremble, but I am in that special peace of mind during those gaps, pauses. Cosmic Consciousness Pose and resting pose. The slower I go the more I feel. The stopping is when I feel the universal consciousness, a deep quiet.

One of My Favorite Sayings in T’ai Chi Chih (TCC)?

I love that teachers share in The Vital Force what happens in the discussions after our monthly TCC teacher practice usually led by Sandy McAlister, on the second Saturday of each month. Very fun and helpful. 

Lisa Stroyan included some of my summary of what others said in her article, The Truth Expressed Many Ways. A favorite saying, which I neglected to share that day, for the Cosmic Consciousness Pose, is: Embrace everything, all 10,000 things. This Chinese expression means the good, the bad, the happy, the sad, all forms of opposites. This brings me to a feeling of pure bliss. Try it. Just that: Embrace everything, all 10,000 things. Say it while holding Cosmic Consciousness Pose. “The Ten Thousand Things” is a common phrase found in Taoist and Buddhist writings to connote the material diversity of the universe. As Lao Tzu, for example, writes in the Tao Te Ching:

Tao produced the One.
The One produced the two.
The two produced the three.
And the three produced the ten thousand things.
