Summer Meditation
Tawny star-streams of sunlight
dance lightly on cool, dimpled ponds
as bamboo sways gently at sunrise
caressed by the rarefied air.
The cherry blooms long since departed
yield green leaves, then ripening fruit,
as fields tossed with summer’s profusion
parade in dazzling array.
