TCC Tree
By: Nancy Rolph-Johnson
Long Beach, California
The tree outside my window
is doing T’ai Chi Chih.
Gliding, sliding, arriving.
Moving slowly front and back.
Beauty in motion.
Then side to side.
Straightened spine aligned.
Left to right,
branches reaching, relaxing.
Carrying the sounds of the spring birds’ choir.
Carrying the sweet song of wind and rain
and sunlight.
May I be as wise as that tree in this
April morning dawn.
