A Conference Of Gratitude & Growth

For me, this year’s conference was a heart felt experience of gratitude and working with impermanence. Justin’s message of love and encouragement to the community is a great gift. Especially as his appearance speaks of the inevitable transition to life as we will know it without Justin’s physical presence. His acknowledgement and support of those within the community who play important leadership roles inspire confidence and trust in the community.

Several months ago, I watched Justin’s video for the first time in a while. His transition from one movement to the next was different than mine . . . and then at conference, I noticed differences in how other teachers transitioned between movements. While I slowly rode the energy down into rest and holding rest until I prepared for the next move, others were closing more quickly and possibly with more deeply bent knees and then releasing from rest before initiating the next movement. I didn’t know what to do with this new awareness, so I began to experiment by mimicking what I saw. At first I felt disconnected. Opening to the flow of Chi while continuing to explore, I began to feel comfortable with the change; and then I began to feel deeply grounded through the soles of my feet. I am grateful for awareness and those at conference who helped me explore this change in my practice.

I am also grateful for the opportunity to practice Seijaku as a part of the conference and then to spend three days after the conference with Pam and others more deeply exploring the Seijaku application of the yin-yang principle. I hadn’t practiced Seijaku after my initial accreditation in 2004 because it gave me a headache (too much unnecessary effort created a lot of tension). After six more years of practice, now I am able to experience the joy and the letting go of the Seijaku practice and a richer experience of the Chi as I incorporate Seijaku into my daily practice.

Patiently open to the possibilities, I embrace impermanence. Each moment living fully in transition, I am filled with love and gratitude for the Chi, the practice, the teachings and the TCC community and special acknowledgement for Justin, our Guide and other leaders and teachers at the conference.
