First Conference Experience
Nine months in as a teacher, I’m able to attend my first T’ai Chi Chih (TCC) teacher conference. It was exciting to actually have faces to go with the names of those that I’ve been corresponding with for the past several years. The familiar faces were surely welcomed. They were a huge factor for my comfort and at home vibe. My knowledge of what was about to take place the next three days was minimal at best.
The stories and videos of Justin were touching and priceless. The theme “Remembering Connection” was intense with the heartfelt stories of Justin and the love everyone shared with him. Being new, it was obvious the community was overflowing with gratitude, connection, love for each other and for TCC.
In a review of my notes, Justin said, “Look for the lessons in the conference.” Some of the many topics that grabbed my attention were: “Befriend the tan ti’en,” “Surrender to the essence,” “Practice with an empty cup,” and “Build your relationship with the principles.” All obviously have to do with deepening the practice to the next level. What a great teacher conference it was. And the journey continues.
