Leading Practices

I don’t have an official class at this time, but I’m okay with that. As part of an expansion of access to T’ai Chi Chih (TCC) at our YMCA, I lead a bi-weekly TCC class with Russell Stith who was also accredited in November. Nina, our teacher and signatory for accreditation, leads a practice on Thursday. This bi-weekly class has been very helpful in building confidence in me leading and teaching a group. It has its challenges, but it’s also improved my practice. The Y has been encouraging, but they are strict about who does what and when, so we are careful about how we present ourselves. For now, it’s called an open practice and is included on the regular schedule for the YMCA. They appear to be open to adding another class that would focus more on teaching, so we will see how that goes, and who will take the lead. We work well together and have a good stable group of practitioners, so I’m excited to see how it evolves.
