Northern Colorado Celebrates World T’ai Chi Day

Loveland, Colorado

It was a glorious spring morning on April 29th when teachers, students, and curious friends from at least seven cities here in Colorado gathered at a local community college to participate in World T’ai Chi and Qigong Day. There were more than 35 of us. And those who were not able to attend in person joined us via Zoom, bringing along 26 more from Belize to Fort Collins and throughout the United States. We honored all who had gathered throughout the world to practice together and all who would be practicing later that day.

JoEtta Heck welcomed everyone and led us in taking several breaths, recognizing the theme for the day, One World One Breath. Marie Dotts, who has been practicing for 27 years and teaching for 25 years, mirrored us. We discovered later with delight that the mirrors behind Marie brought the image of the group to those online being hosted by Lisa Stroyan.

More than 60 people feeling the Chi, moving the energy, and sharing the joy. Capturing the comments as we dispersed into the sunshine: “Where can I take lessons? When can we do this again? That was so calming and relaxing, even though I didn’t know all the movements.” With deep gratitude.
