Reflection on the T’ai Chi Chih Conference in Chicago
Lia Ridley, Denver, CO
This year’s conference seemed especially relaxed and comfortable. The scheduling was flexible and everything seemed to be accomplished. I’m grateful that there was time enough for me to share thru dance in a freeing and lively workshop.
It was a real pleasure to share with T’ai Chi Chih teachers “Dancing from the Heart-Gypsy style” through storytelling, dance, and music. The smiles, the free letting go, and unstructured, spontaneous way of moving was truly a heart warming experience. I believe that it’s a perfect compliment to the other T’ai Chi Chih activities, as well as to the practice of T’ai Chi Chih. It’s a lovely sight to see and experience fellow teachers enjoying themselves so much. I look forward to this exchange of giving and receiving and I’m always gratified at the warmth that exudes from the teachers which I carry with me throughout the year.
This summer I’m gratified to know that my daughter Tamara will become a T’ai Chi Chih teacher in August at the San Diego teacher accreditation course. She is a natural teacher and healer and she’s looking forward to helping people find the energy and joy that she’s gained by practicing and preparing herself for the big event.
This year, as always, I was thrilled to be part of the T’ai Chi Chih family gathering.
