Tag-Team Teaching
By: Stan Corwin
Asheville, NC
If you live near another T’ai Chi Chih teacher, try tag-team teaching. Vicki Schroeder lives in the Greenville, South Carolina area, and we are both about 20 miles from Hendersonville, North Carolina. Once upon a time, Vicki and I asked, “How can we bring Antonia to our region of the world?” Vicki doubted that her students would travel to Asheville and I doubted mine would drive to Greenville. But what if we started teaching in Hendersonville, half way between us? So we did; we decided to tag-team teach. We both show up for the free introduction and the last class, and we alternate giving sessions one through seven. So we travel half the time and our students get the benefit of two teachers. And it worked: Antonia gave a weekend retreat this past March, attended by Vicki’s students, my students, our students and many teachers too.
