The Universe Provides

Not too long ago, my partner and I headed to Momala’s to help. Heading south we talked excitedly about being with family and especially our son. We discussed his trials and tribulations and how we still enjoyed helping him with small gifts like gas money. Or how it was fun to cook for him and his partner and Momala, and spoil everyone at dinnertime with good food and wine.

Earlier that morning, as I walked to the bay to practice T’ai Chi Chih, it dawned on me that we still had shopping to do and that we hadn’t stopped to get cash. Let it go, I thought, “It’ll all get done at the appropriate time, the Universe has a plan.”

With that in mind, I found a quiet spot along the water and began grounding myself for practice. It was cool, with few people around, the breeze was soft, and the sand comfortably warm on my feet. I practiced and was at peace again.

Afterwards, I walked along the bay looking for a bench so I could put socks and shoes on and return to my brother-in-law’s. When I found one, the previous thoughts returned about needing to get things done. Why can’t I just stay in the moment a while longer. So, I cast my gaze to the water, settled myself, finally bent to tie my shoes, and then saw a treasure. The universe rolled up two $20 dollar bills and placed them at my feet. I heard her say, “See, all in good time. Now go enjoy the rest of your day.”

The universe gifts every day. The lesson from staying grounded after my practice? Enjoy life, right here, right now. If we rush and worry, sometimes we’ll miss her generosity. That night, she provided us with a nice bottle of wine and $20 for gas money. Practice gratitude and generosity.
