Currently, the only class I teach on an ongoing basis is my Ongoing Community Class on Mondays. The class is an “all-levels” class and anyone is welcome to drop in. Many candidates and teachers have found this class valuable, and this is the best way to get to know my teaching style.
Other classes will be scheduled when a few people have expressed keen interest. Here are the classes I am available to teach. Some classes are “ongoing,” meaning they recur continuously. However, many specialized classes can be scheduled once a few people are interested, and those people will have first choice as to the dates and times before the class is opened to others. Individual mentoring is arranged upon request.
Group TCC and Seijaku Classes
Beginner Plus
Beginner Plus (1 hour): Start fresh, or slow down and return to the fundamentals. Learn more about TCC and try it out to feel the benefits for yourself. Candidates and teachers might like to participate to refresh their knowledge, observe for teaching ideas, and practice establishing and anchoring a group energy flow with beginners. Includes general instruction with a short practice to bring it home.
Deepening TCC
Deepening TCC (60-75 minutes): Are you someone who learns best by jumping in and following along? Or, are you ready to start experiencing more energy and increased benefits in your practice? TCC movements are about a lot more than where to place the feet and hands, and the more you learn, the deeper it becomes. We’ll review and explore the movements and principles of TCC for more ease, awareness, softness, flow, power, and continuity. Includes short teaching or reading and a 6-repetition guided practice and tips, possibly guided meditation after. Appropriate for all, from beginners to advanced.
TCC Energy Flow Refinement
TCC Energy Flow Refinement (1.5 hours) – Want to get the most out of your practice? There is a never ending depth to experience and explore in T’ai Chi Chih. By becoming aware of the subtleties of the practice, and practicing together to create group energy, we can take our T’ai Chi Chih practice to a new level. In this highly interactive working practice, explore topics such as connecting with the T’an Tien and feet, flowing (vs moving) from center, sitting on the little chair, and the hip swivel. This class is appropriate for those who have been practicing TCC regularly for a year or more, especially candidates and teachers. Teachers and candidates will have the option of taking turns leading.
Seijaku
Seijaku (Two hours) – Lisa has studied Seijaku with Carmen Brocklehurst, Daniel Pienciak, Marie Dotts and others, and was accredited by Pam Towne in 2017. Appropriate for serious students and teachers wanting to delve deeper and explore the “advanced” form of TCC. Not recommended for candidates planning to attend and Accreditation course in the next year unless already actively practicing Seijaku.
Private Mentoring
Candidate Mentoring and Student Coaching (60 to 75 minutes sessions, Individuals or pairs) – Lisa is passionate about helping candidates become T’ai Chi Chih teachers. She has mentored several students to become teachers, and is very familiar with the current requirements. As a teacher, Lisa has audited and hosted online Intensives, and has audited several accreditation courses with Daniel Pienciak and Pam Towne. She is the host for April Leffler’s first Accreditation As a Teacher Trainer in 2023. Not planning to become a teacher, but want to go deeper? Mentoring can jumpstart a deeper flow of energy, and Lisa’s previous life coaching experience aids practitioners who would like to deepen into the spirituality or health benefits of T’ai Chi Chih.
Private Online Classes And Workshops
Interested in sharing T’ai Chi Chih with a private group, organization, or as part of another event? A private TCC class, practice group, or individual session can be a great way to connect with people across the country and even the world. You choose the focus and arrange the participants, and Lisa’s technical expertise makes setup a breeze.
Designing Connection: Teaching TCC on Zoom class
This class is offered currently to accredited T’ai Chi Chih instructors only. New sessions start regularly. Please see more information and fill out this form to sign up for an existing session or be notified of the next: https://bit.ly/tccteachingzoom
Seijaku, CO Teachers Small Group Practice, and Private Classes
Want to go deeper or considering becoming a teacher? Private T’ai Chi Chih, Seijaku (advanced T’ai Chi Chih) and candidate mentoring sessions to prepare for teacher accreditation are available by request. Lisa also specializes in individual T’ai Chi Chih student and candidate coaching over zoom. Many teachers have found that they make great personal discoveries during the process of accreditation. She has helped several candidates become teachers and recently audited an accreditation and has a good feel for how to get the most out of the process. After helping candidates solidify their felt understanding of the principles and subtleties of the movements, focus shifts to deepening into and feeling the energy of the practice so that T’ai Chi Chih can become the teacher. Most of my zoom sessions that are not listed on the church website are held in my personal roomFor the password for a particular event or for more information, contact Lisa Stroyan, [email protected]Rates
The Monday community class is offered for an optional donation to support organizations in Fort Collins, CO. Prices for other classes upon request.
