2nd Saturday: Community Gratitude
At Sandy McAlister’s August 2024 T’ai Chi Chih (TCC) Second Saturday teacher practice on Zoom, there was such incredible gratitude for each of the presenters and organizers in the 2024 teacher conference, in whole and by name. Here are the highlights I captured:
The “spheres” presentation was “delicious”… The message of unity, profound… A beautiful program keepsake… Small groups were brilliant, and produced deep experiences… Wonderful human connections… Brought us into the oneness that Justin talks about… So moving, anchoring, and shows us our connection… Laurie Jacobi’s video touched many hearts and helped bring sacredness into the conference… It was special to meet people who have only been seen on Zoom… Seeing people’s eyes, hugging them, and seeing the smiles produced so much joy… From the moment she stepped into the hotel, April Leffler felt the intentions as an energetic shepherding into the conference…
Deep gratitude from Karen K for the support of the Albuquerque community when she needed emergency surgery. Even in the hospital she felt the presence of the conference. She says she is doing very well. People also expressed appreciation for KG for all of her work, and for having a large group of us at her house and continuing that connection. An international teacher shared her deep gratitude for the scholarships; it was so nice to be able to attend with that help. Gratitude to Carmen Brocklehurst for bringing Justin into the last practice; it felt like he was with us.
Sandy explained that the second Saturday practices are another chance to share with each other; it’s not about her. She shared that the teacher conference will probably be on Zoom every other year, and in person every other year. “We are looking for people who are willing to be part of the committee for Zoom next year or in-person the year after — it won’t happen without people stepping up to help.”
